

The company was launched in 2018 by Nicole Clark, a lawyer who initially began collecting data on judges for her own use while a litigation associate in Los Angeles. It also now offers the ability to search jury verdicts in selected states.

Trellis offers two primary products: Smart Search, through which users are able to find court dockets, rulings and filed documents, and Judge Analytics, where users can find information about judges’ caseloads and ruling tendencies, including grant rates for specific types of motions and anticipated timing to reach certain milestones.

The Trellis website provides a full list of state courts it covers, and you can click through to each state to see the courts covered within it. Michigan covers the counties of Ingham, Montcalm, Oakland, Ottawa, Saginaw, Washtenaw and Wayne. In each of those states but Michigan, its coverage spans all counties. Trellis has now added coverage for courts in Michigan, Missouri, North Dakota, Oklahoma and Wisconsin. Trellis, a company that provides legal analytics and research for state trial court records, has expanded its coverage into another five states, bringing its total coverage to 21 states.
